Obvious April Fool Joke Fools Millions

A major news organisation today fabricated a totally implausible story about an outrageously outlandish subject which fooled millions into believing it was true.

The news organisation, a trusted and reliable source of factual facts, calm measured opinion, and long lists of stuff,  decided that, on 1 April, it would “let its corporate hair down” and  run a completely made-up story to see if it could fool foolish “fools” on All Fools (“April” Fools) Day.

And fool they did, with a record number of people commenting that they thought the totally made-up story was 110% completely and totally copper-bottomed ship-shaped God fearin’ TRUE.

When people realised it was NOT true but in fact an “April Fools” joke they became outraged. Comments on the news organisation’s website include:

“I am incandescent with rage, and, in fact, screaming as I type. How dare they? How DARE they? HOW dare they? I no longer trust this formerly reputable news organisation.” J. McSquaggle, Glasgow

“Lies make Baby Jesus cry. Reputable news organisation should be ashamed.” Dieter Fontana, Mexico

“CUNTS.” – Mrs Ernestina Beveridge, Croydon

An angry mob of fooled fools surrounded the head offices of the reputable news organisation brandishing burning brands, guns, knives, ropes and buckets of acid, calling for the resignation, torture and execution of its CEO, Mr Man.

Mr Man had to be airlifted to safety by a helicopter piloted by his close friend, Mr Other Man. He is currently recovering in the pub.

Which just goes to show – you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time, or some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time, or something.

Meanwhile President Barack Obama was assassinated by Al Qaeda and World War Three was declared.
